local missions

Welcome to our Local Missions page! We would love for you to get involved in serving our Jackson community.

If you'd like to know how to serve in any of our local missions and see what opportunities we have for you please contact our offices below!

I'm interested in serving through local missions

Lighthouse Ministry

Lighthouse Ministry - We serve the vulnerable in our community, such as the homeless, innercity communities, and those living in our local hotels.  We use an empowerment-based model of ministry, in which guests can earn points through completing basic tasks.  They can then use those points to purchase needed items such as food from the pantry, hygiene items, and clothing.  This occurs on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from 10 am - 2 pm.  We are currently looking for a few more volunteers for this ministry as well!  If you are interested, please contact Robin at rpopplewell@ebcjackson.org.

Mission Jackson

Mission Jackson

Sunday | 3:00 PM
Mission Jackson is a ministry where Englewood volunteers go out each week on  Sunday afternoons to serve the community in multiple locations around Jackson. At each location, volunteers share the Gospel and build relationships through sports, crafts, and small group bible studies. Kids of all ages and families are being reached through this ministry. Volunteers are needed to reach more families and multiply Mission Jackson sites across the city. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact
Isabella Jimenez Ijimenez@ebcjackson.org.

Hotel Outreach

Our ministry team partners with the Scarlet Rope Project, an organization that helps remove women from the bondage of sex trafficking and exploitation.  Our teams help partner in this ministry by taking meals door-to-door at local hotels and sharing the gospel.  Here are ways to serve in this ministry:  -grilling  - food wrapping  - food box packing  - door-to-door outreach

This ministry operates on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month, and we are urgently looking for more volunteers! If you are interested in learning more, please contact Alison at akeener@ebcjackson.org

English Classes

We offer free English classes for all levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced).  You do not need to speak another language in order to volunteer!

ESL Registration

Andrew Jackson Elementary

Many of our Mission Jackson students attend schools close to Englewood. We spend a majority of our  time serving the school located closest to our church, Andrew Jackson Elementary.  We help with special events, teams work on landscaping, and some even perform minor repairs.  Throughout the year we have events such as a Fall Fest, a picnic on the school lawn for all to attend, a Spring fling to gather with everyone again, and a teacher appreciation banquet to thank all those who teach at Andrew Jackson. For more information, contact Robin Popplewell rpopplewell@ebcjackson.org.

Van Drivers

We are always in need of van drivers to help transport our mission teams to and from the airport (or other meeting spot).  This could be for drop-off, pickup, or both!  No CDL required, but must be able to pass a driving record check.  For more information on serving in this area, please contact Sandy Callis at scallis@ebcjackson.org or Isa Jiminez at ijiminez@ebcjackson.org.

Birth Choice

This ministry empowers women and their partners to choose life when faced with an unplanned pregnancy. Volunteer nurses and client advocates are needed, as well as donation of baby items. For more information, contact Robin Popplewell rpopplewell@ebcjackson.org.
