WHO CAN PLAY PICKLEBALL?
Pickleball is the perfect way to build A REAL IMPACT by spending time together with people you work with, making REAL COMMUNITY with the people you hang out with and REAL PURPOSE with the people whom you want to be intentional. Pickleball may also be the perfect way to create REAL CHANGE by introducing someone to Englewood that may never come to church on a Sunday!
Pickleball is not restricted to any age, skillset or ability. We have beginner, intermediate & advanced courts. We are INSIDE - as in air conditioned in the summer, and heated in the winter! All you need is a Pickleball Paddle and someone to play with - we have a few Paddles to get you started if you want to try it first!
HOW DO I JOIN & PLAY?
YOU WILL NEED TO SIGN OUR LIABILITY WAIVER WHEN YOU ARRIVE
Pickleball is a "play at your own risk" activity. There is always a risk of pulling muscles, especially on your legs and/or joints. For more serious situations, our staff is trained for CPR/AED implementation should that need arise. Pickleball is a physical activity and as such you are also agreeing to the fact that you understand and are prepared for this activity - we always stress stretching before you play.
These Waivers will be with the Coordinators when you arrive.

Q: WHAT IS PICKLEBALL?
A: Pickleball is a sport that is commonly referred to as a mix of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Pickleball is a racquet/paddle sport that is played with a whiffle ball on either an indoor or outdoor court that is the same size as a badminton court and a modified tennis net. This sport is for all ages and skill levels that can be played as either doubles or singles, is easy to learn, and comes with an amazing, welcoming culture and community of people.
Q: WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO PLAY?
A: Water bottle, gym shoes, loose fitting gym clothing, pickleball paddle and whiffle balls.
Q: WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A PADDLE OR BALL?
A: We have some paddles for you to use, plus we supply all the balls as well. This allows you time to figure out if you need to purchase your own, and what specifically do you need to buy. Our Coordinators can help you with these questions.
Q: WHY DO I NEED TO SIGN A LIABILITY WAIVER?
A: Pickleball is a "play at your own risk" type of sport. While we do our best to provide you with a safe environment, there is always a risk of pulling muscles, especially on your legs and/or joints. For more serious situations our coordinators are trained in CPR/AED applications. We have an AED in the Gym itself. The church does not assume your risk, however we do want to provide an effective means of which to call 911, and apply CPR if needed during the lag of the call and arrival of the authorities.
Q: HOW MANY COURTS DO YOU HAVE?
A: We have three (3) inside courts at our East Campus.
Q: HOW LONG CAN I PLAY?
A: This depends on the demand at the time. When demand for courts are low, you can play a long time - should the demand be high (defined as a lot of people waiting on courts) you will be limited accordingly. Our Coordinators will inform you about length of play when you arrive; if it is unclear, just ask them.
Q: HOW DO I SIGN UP TO PLAY?
A: You can join our GroupMe Community to sign up for a time to play and stay up-to-date on information for Englewood Pickleball! See above for information on both how to download the GroupMe app, but then also to find the EBC East Pickleball Community Group.
